  • Why eContracts?

eContractsTM is built ground up on SharePoint 2010 and therefore is a native SharePoint app – not an integration, not a standalone app with connectors or web parts a true native app with all the content sitting within SharePoint content databases, all the customizations based on SharePoint feature and web part extensibility frameworks. All features built to support the contract management process are implemented by App extensions for SharePoint including contract metadata, contract workflow, milestones and alerts, obligations, extensive support to contract types among other features and functionality.

For support of work flows, meta-data we have configured windows workflow foundation templates (native SharePoint work flow engine) along with SharePoint lists and library extenders, web part gallery extensions, SharePoint based custom pages etc., Hence, managing and administering the system is no different from managing any SharePoint application.

All of the contract data and content of the application is accessible by your organization and can be further configured and customized with standard SharePoint web parts, views. Also, since it is a native SharePoint application there will not be a need to invest in additional infrastructure or administrative resources.

Extending the application with integrations can also be done through SharePoint based integration mechanisms like Business Catalog Services, External Content types etc.,

Frequently Asked Questions

How is eContractsTM install into our SharePoint environment? How does it affect any of the applications we have on SharePoint?
eContractsTM is installed using Microsoft’s recommended SharePoint Solution Packages (WSP). All features, upgrades and components are installed with a single package run by a wizard like script. Installing eContractsTM does not affect any applications that may exist in your SharePoint environment. We recommend implementing eContracts on a separate web application with it’s own content database so the capacity and storage is independently managed with unique archival and backup restore processes.
How do I import existing contracts into eContractsTM?

We can help in the initial setup and migration of your existing contracts into eContractsTM. This would include contract documents, milestones, permission levels etc. For importing large number of contracts into the system we have built extensive migration and import/export tools that can read and upload your contract data appropriately.

We already have a database of our suppliers and customers. Can we integrate eContractsTM to reference that information?
If you are looking to integrate master data from ERP, Financial and CRM systems or other custom solutions into the eContractsTM, we can help you do so. We have a comprehensive integration methodology for integrating vendor, customer and financial data along with reference information into the eContracts system. We utilize SharePoint Business Connectivity Services, External Content Types among other types of integration mechanisms to do so. We are also able to connect to Enterprise Service Bus frameworks and native APIs of Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce.com, SAP, Oracle Financials and other systems.
As a SharePoint administrator, what level of configuration and flexibility do I have on eContractsTM?
We have taken utmost care to make sure that eContractsTM is built and implement using best practices end-to-end. IT personnel, familiar with SharePoint can extend the application with additional pages, workflow templates, list and libraries, views, reports etc.,like they would on any other SharePoint application or solution. However, care should be taken not to tamper with important controlling data relationships and business rules that affect the functionality of the application.
What infrastructure configuration do I need to install and use eContractsTM?

eContracts Team Edition can be installed on any of the SharePoint 2010 editions (SharePoint Foundation Services, SharePoint Standard and Enterprise Editions). The Business and Enterprise version of the product works on SharePoint 2010 Standard and Enterprise edition.

What additional infrastructure do I need for reporting with eContractsTM?

Out of the Box, eContracts ships with a standard set of 20 reports for contract performance, monitoring and administration. Additional reporting can be done utilizing SQL Reporting Services. Also, depending upon your SharePoint licensing we support Performance point dashboards, KPIs and other features for executive views into contract data and content.

What is the upgrade path for SharePoint 2013 and beyond?

For all of current and future customers, we will support the migration and native application support for SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013. We can help with the migration of the application, content and data along with introduction of new features based on the support available in the latest versions of SharePoint.
